Twitter Launches Blue For Business With Square Profile Photos

Twitter is launching Blue For Organization, a brand-new version of Blue Verified developed to identify brand accounts from personal accounts.

In addition to a gold checkmark, Blue For Business features a square profile image and the ability to connect any affiliated Twitter accounts.

When company accounts designate their affiliated accounts, such as individual Twitter accounts of workers, the affiliate gets an additional badge next to their validated checkmark.

The image at the top of this page reveals an example of a Twitter staff member’s account, which has a blue checkmark and a badge with Twitter’s logo.

In an article, Twitter offers various examples of how brands can utilize Blue For Company:

“By developing this connection, we’re making it possible for companies to develop networks within their own companies– on Twitter. Businesses can affiliate their management, brands, support handles, employees or groups. Journalists, sports group gamers or movie characters can all be affiliated. You call it, we got it. Each affiliate will be validated and formally linked to their moms and dad handle based upon a list offered by the parent business. We will share any brand-new requirements, prices or process as we upgrade them.”

Despite how Twitter tries to spin it, there’s little doubt that Blue For Company is created to sell more memberships.

If your brand name and its affiliates are at danger of impersonation on Twitter, having everyone confirmed and connected under the exact same parent account might be beneficial.

However, without further details, it isn’t easy to measure this service’s value to businesses.

To that end, we don’t understand how much it will cost companies, as signups aren’t open yet.

Twitter is piloting Blue For Businesses with select accounts and will make the service broadly offered next year.
